Introducing: Cross & Stethoscope

Exciting news:

I've started a new blog that actually has a direct purpose. Whereas TCM was built more for my odd ramblings and musings as they come, this new blog, Cross and Stethoscope, is going to be a life chronicle of where God is taking me though service, medicine, and missions.

It'll be a weekly blog, being published every Monday, with the odd extra bit thrown in mid-week. Monday is the guarantee, though.

New Opportunities

I've recently been taken on as a writer over at Church Planting & Missions. It's a missions blog site for Job 31, a men's ministry, which seeks to engage and equip men for day-to-day integrity and ministry.

Twisted Mirrors: Introduction

Twisted Mirrors is going to become an ongoing series, ultimately to cover the 7 classical Deadly Sins. This idea was spurred by my own investigation of my struggles with Lust and my discoveries thereupon (personal and research).

So, I hope you enjoy and learn from what I'm learning.

I won't necessarily be posting these in regular sequence, but they will all eventually be posted with the "Twisted Mirrors" tag.

New-ish Blog Developments

In case some of you were wondering exactly what some of the new changes on the blog were, here's a basic rundown:

• Regarding the new images on the side panel: each of those is two things. 
• Each is an image representing a charity I endorse and, when money's a bit more available, support.
• Each image is also a link to that organization's website, allowing you to read more of what they do as well as giving you the option to donate (this isn't the first time, either - see Happy Thanksgiving, Pay It Forward)
• Regarding the page tabs up top, those are, respectively:
• This blog, 
• Information about and a link to my devotional notes blog, 
• Information about and a donation link to the missions trip of which I'm a part, and 
• The newest page is about and contains a donation link for Restore Rwanda - an initiative started by my school to build a school in a "Widow's village".

So, yeah. Check all of this cool new-ish stuff out!

New TCM Family Member!

Two points of order:

1. You may have noticed some posts here dated back to much earlier this year/last year/earlier. Those are blog posts from my pre-Blogger days that were initially posted on Facebook's Notes app. I saw them recently and decided to integrate them to the TCM family.
2. You might have noticed a second tab on the top of the blog. That is a tab introducing and possessing a link to a new blog in the TCM family. Devo Notes is two things: a collection of my previous Devo Notes posts from my Facebook Notes days and the continuation of that project, namely the posting of what I'm reading in my daily quiet time and what I'm learning from it.

Blog Transfer!

So, over then next short while, I will be transferring blogs.

Let me clarify: I used to use Facebook as my blog site, posting notes there about some serious issues. Recently, I decided to move all of these posts (the blog ones only, not the random ones) to TCM.

Welcome to the Fourth World.

Everyone knows 1st world (developed countries), 2nd world (ex-communist countries) and 3rd world (developing countries), but very few people know about the 4th world (partly because as far as I know, I just coined the term). Welcome to my world . The fourth world, as I call it, is the homeland of many TCKs (third culture kids) everywhere. Aside from airports, it's not actually a physical place, but a place of mental confusion and unrest. Why? Well, ask yourself where you're from, what your culture is, what your language is, who you are. In the 4th world, these are very hard questions to answer. Where is home? Is it one of two (or more) cities, the place you sleep for the night or the place you were born? What's your culture? American? International? or is it somewhere in between? Life's hard for us TCKs in the 4th world...

but I wouldn't change it for anything in the world.
